His attestation papers which db was quick to spot perhaps show that his family life was not straightforward.  Check out his next of kin which seems to have an original entry relating to a foster something called Roberts in Colwyn Bay and then sister Blodwen substituted.

That said, in terms of finding descendants to perhaps hand over the medal it will be in Canada that the answers are most likely to be found I imagine.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,

Can't transcribe the 1911 Wales Census for Colwyn Bay but there is a Hannah Blodwen Roberts described as an adopted daughter and John Edward (adopted son)

Sandra

Added later Anc tree says Hannah passed away in 1936

Anc tree gives Hugh Llewellyn Pritchard was born on 28 February 1892 in Amlwch, Anglesey, to Mary Parry, age 37, and Thomas Pritchard, age 39.

Hugh Llewwellyn Pritchard - Parry -
GRO Reference: 1892  J Quarter in Cardiff  Volume 11A  Page 300

New York Passenger List shows a Hugh L Pritchard - 20 Sept 1927 on the Majestic. wife Ceridwen Pritchard aged 28 years. In transit to Montreal.

UK Return Passenger List - Hugh Pritchard born 28 February 1892 - Montreal to Liverpool 30 May 1958 on
the Carinthia. Also travelling Ceridwen Pritchard born 30 June 1899 - going to the Goring Hotel London. Visit for 1 mont.

Anc tree says father Thomas Pritchard died 1893 and Mary nee Parry Pritchard inj 1896. Which answers why the children were hard to find.
Hugh apparently passed in 1963 but it doesn't say where
