I'm on my ipad and it's not very easy to navigate goole maps, so I'll have to leave it till I am on my desktop later. The houses look like new builds from above, with allotments out the back.

It looks, to me, as though Parker's Terrace and Robinson's Terrace were running off of Chapel Street?

On modern maps, there is a Chapel Court roughly where Robinson's Terrace was?

Still on my ipad so this is just a guess, but I think Chapel Court is further north than Robinson's Tce. You can see a T junction in the old map more or less corresponding to the Y of Chapel Court on the modern map.

Fascinating maps, thanks everybody.  It looks like the old row of houses in Robinson's Terrace have been demolished.

The maps also show where Hawshaw Terrace in Hoyland Common was- the subject of my other post.  It too looks to have been demolished.

Thats a shame ctrunfree. It is often the case in larger cities or where urban sprawl has occurred over the years.  :(

Thanks Ruskie.  I suspect that the properties would have been condemned as unfit for habitation.

They probably had inadequate plumbing  and unsatisfactory  kitchens, and outside toilets.

Yes, that is sometimes the reason for demolition.
