It crossed my mind briefly that the cross could be "two-coloured" but I didn't pursue it. :(

Well done. The marriage between George Heron and Felicia Brooke took place in Rostherne, Cheshire, on 23 April 1747.
Incidentally, when looking at shields which signify a marriage the husband is always on the left.
