I considered myself a "Queen" Googler but this article taught me a couple of fabby tricks.  I particular like the ~genealogy tip. 

I often do searches like Lowther "family tree" or Lowther "family history" - I had a kind of checklist of searches to do with each surname.  But with the synonym function Lowther ~genealogy will do them all for me.  As my wee brother would say... Wicked...
