Could Mary Phoebe have been registered as Hicks but her parents never married until July/Aug/Sept quarter ?  Have you found the family on census in 1891 ?

Gloucestershire, England, Church of England Baptisms, 1813-1913 -  There was a baptism Cheltenham, St John, Gloucestershire, England - 31 May 1883 - Mary Phoabe Hicks (as transcribed - but could be May Phoebe)  - Mother:   Marianne Hicks - Charwoman - 67 Duke Street.

Hi Sandra.

Thanks to your bapt. you sent me with the address Duke Street I have found Phoebe in 1891 and 1901 and I think I have sorted her mother now as well.

Firstly I found Phoebe May Nicks in 1901 in Duke Street with her uncle and aunt William and Sophia Hall.
Then I found her with William and Sophia  as adopted she was down as phoebe May Hall but on the image as Hicks.
I then followed Sophia back and found her maiden name was Bond and she is with Phoebe's mum Mary in Charlton Kings in 1851 and with their parents Charles and Ann also found her bapt. Mary Anne in Charlton Kings 30/10/1842.Now that Marriage 1864 George Hicks to Mary Ann Bond  father Charles Bond must be the right one,Found Mary Ann Hicks in 1871 married but no husband with her.
Alan

Also Myra Mansell Widow was good info.

It seemed to coincidental not to have been a possibility - unfortunately I didn't have time to look much further yesterday. Thank you for the update.

Excellent result Alan - lots of gaps filled  ;)
