1788- marriage of Robert smith to Sarah Birchall wybunbury

Looking for any information on this marriage please- any information regarding addresses, parentage, witnesses etc.

Hi Caroline,

Unfortunately, addresses by this date go no further than which parish (in this case "of this parish" for both, which just means "we have been living here for at least the three weeks it took to call the Banns!)

Parentage is usually not given before 1837, when civil registration started. It will only sometimes appear if one party is a minor, and the vicar chooses to record the permission to marry.

Witnesses for this marriage, which took place on 5 Feb 1788,  are Thomas Burchall, and Mary Tomkinson

Many thanks anyway- every snippet of info is always valuable- so at least i have names for the witnesses which can sometimes link into family
Now I need to see if Thomas Burchall/Birchall was sarah's father or brother.
