HANNAH WELLS
« on: Monday 14 November 16 07:42 GMT (UK) »
I would be very grateful if anybody was able to give me more information on the siblings and parents of Hannah Wells who married Samuel Barton Lush on 3 July 1853 in Holy Trinity Hoxton Hackney London. I think her father may have been James. The couple subsequently moved to Auckland New Zealand. I am new to this site and I would value greatly any help received.

Hi

The marriage cert is online on Anc and lists her father as James Wells bricklayer and witnesses at the wedding were James and Susannah Wells.   Hannah was listed as a spinster aged 22

I wonder one of the wedding witnesses Susannah Wells was the wife of James Wells possible brother of Hannah??

There is a marriage in Shoredtich 30 June 1852 between James Wells age 23 Bricklayer -father James Wells Bricklayer and Susannah Cusack.   Hannah Wells was a witness

Hannah's sister Elizabeth married John Thomas WHITE at Christ Church, Hoxton on 4 Nov 1849.

1861 census are at 15 Anns Place, Shoreditch. Two lodgers are
James Wells, 64, bricklayer, born St Johns Wapping
Elizabeth Wells, 62, born St Lukes, blind for 12 years.

Elizabeth is a widow in 1871 and still living with the White family.
