Yes, I found this too Cas. Call me old fashioned, - but paper books still win hands down with me.  :)

Anyone who has ancestors who worked in the Copper Industry in Swansea would find this book of interest. Bits of it are quite technical, but it has some wonderful illustrations and photographs, (Including one of the Wesleyan Tabernacle Chapel in Swansea where my GreatGreatGrandfather Evan Rees was Baptised in 1836). I have previously read it, but didn't realise at the time that it would become quite so collectable...

It is currently out of print, but hopefully will be republished at some stage in the future.

Romilly.

Try to borrow it from your library.

I'm in Hertfordshire, and so would have to be an inter-library loan; which is now so expensive that it makes more sense to buy a used copy.

Romilly.

ABE Books has a copy
https://www.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?kn=Copperopolis%3A+landscapes+of+the+early+industrial+period+in+Swansea&sts=t

COST 2,573 US dollars! I doubt many libraries have a copy.
Worth keeping an eye on the ABE books site. I found an out of print book there many years ago which was prohibitively expensive (£ several thousands) at the time but a few years later was included in a sale at less than the postage costs to the UK. BArgain :)

"Available as E book for 6.99 if any good

Thanks Cas, I hadn't found that - I'll let my friend know and see if that would be suitable. :D

Further to this...

I was delighted to recieve, (as a Birthday present today) a copy of the 'Copperopolis' book from my husband. I can see that it will keep me occupied for some time to come!

Romilly :)

Goodness, great present -  he must have paid a lot for it! I've been searching for one for my NHS Heritage Group for ages and they want the earth for the second hand ones.  :o

Happy Birthday!!

Many Thanks Bev.

I don't know how he managed to find a copy, - I've been looking for ages! (He won't tell me what he paid for it, - I just hope it wasn't excessive:-)

I'm delighted to finally have a hard copy of it.

Romilly. :)
