I actually visited Brigg for the first time in July but didn't get to that end of town.  :-\

I realised the river was too narrow to be the Trent, so looked for another river ... then worked my way along it from the coast.

A  piece of it has been preserved and is apparently on display in the grounds of the Yarborough Hunt pub.

It won't be the Leeds and Liverpool, which took only narrowboats.

Not strictly true, as the L&L was a wide-beam canal, but certainly narrower than the waterway in these photos.
