There is only one other baptism at Mellor with parents Joseph and Elizabeth - Victoria - 28 November 1841 - death registration March quarter 1850 aged 8.  Birth registration in 1841 shows mmn = Stanney.  William's registration in March quarter 1846 also gives mmn = Stanney.

Possibility:

Looking at deaths for a female Bradbury prior to 1841 (and post the start of civil registration), when we believe Joseph remarried, then the most likely would be Alice Bradbury who died 1838 aged 42.  Youngest child of the 1841 household is Alice  :-\

Added:

All Saints, Glossop - 4 April 1824 - Joseph Bradbury and Alice Booth (FreeReg)

Thanks for looking at the records for me....

Regards

Cheran :)

Family search has the wedding date as 22 April 1841 Glossop..... Joseph is a widow ( ;)oops widower!!!!) and says Elizabeth is single

Joseph may be a widower, but not a widow?! ;

It still remains that with Elizabeth being 57 in 1851, she is very likely to have married before.
And therefore her marriage to Joseph would not have been under her maiden name of Hill?

I think I need to find more of the births of some this family.....

Looks like Alice Bradbury (daughter) on the 1851 census with her brother George both born in Mellor

with them is a William Hyde 11 year servant.....  now that brings in the Hyde family again...

Cheran,Bradbury is not a common name around Glossop !, i have Bradbury in that area, originally from Staffs. c1750, Birmingham, 1850, Derbyshire 1900, they worked on the Ladybower  dam living in Birchinlee    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birchinlee.
I have an earlier connection for the area Thomas Bradbury b.1818 Haunton Saffs  m.1837 Lichfield, Elizabeth Baxter, b. 1818 Chilcote Derbyshire. Just curious if anything rings a bell to you .   bodger

Sorry at this stage I am going round in circles but nothing seems to fit with this :-\
