I think the James Morrison in the will is my great grandfather. The family lived in Edenticullo for over 100 years although some went back and forward to Jefferson in Iowa.

Hi Inr, I haven’t yet found a connection with the George Dewart family but I am working with a Dewart friend and George is his family.  We are trying to connect that link between George and my Robert, Rebecca and others

He isn’t a member of Rootschat so what is the best way to link you both?

George was his Grandfather/Great Grandfather from memory and he went to the US.

I have done DNA but he hasn’t.  I do have two DNA matches with Rebecca’s line and 1 other match from the line of my James Dewart who married Sarah Metcalf - even though we don’t converse lol. Some people just don’t seem to want to do this for some reason, but she has connected with me and doesn’t talk - or respond if I ask a question.

I accept her as I have two cousins who do talk if that makes sense.

I’ve tested on both FTDNA and 23andme. If you’re on these two sites, let me know and I will check and get back to you. Great to hear from another Dewart.  Cheers clemmie

Hi Rebecca,
I just signed up on the RootsChat site and read your notes. George Dewart and Agnes Carnes are my direct ancestors (my great grandparents) and I am happy to share any information I've learned researching my Dewart ancestry. FYI.... Are you the daughter of Andy Dewart?
