David Sawyer Baptism
« on: Friday 23 December 16 05:14 GMT (UK) »
Could someone please advise on the name of the father of Davids Mother.

I can get No 99. David the son of James Sawyer of Snyds Green in the parish of Burslem in the county of Stafford, miner, and of Elizabeth his wife, who was the daughter of ????? and Charlotte Oakes, was born on the Thirteenth day of July………

The rest is relatively clear, it is just Charlotte Oakes husband I am unable to decipher.

Any assistance would be very gratefully accepted.

What I read is James and Charlotte Oakes - the 'J' of James is unclear because of the tail on the 'y' of county   . . . . born 30th  July 1834.
(I think thirtieth rather than thirteenth.)

Wiggy, thank you for that. I could not be sure if it was James or Francis, which is why I asked for help from the great people here.
