Quote from David;

Stamford Mercury 7th January 1825
On Sunday, at Spalding, after a short illness, aged about 50, John Vine, miller, leaving a disconsolate widow and six children.

So I got the wrong Burial and this one looks correct thanks to David.
There were a few John Vines around I must admit!

The Southwell info I posted I would say is right.

Trish :)

That is extremely interesting that my John's a miller father also John may have had another son Matthew who was also a miller. Will have to look at this more on another site. I wonder if my 2 x grandfather Matthew Southwell vine was named after him, he got his 2nd name after his granmothers maiden name.
