Hi Boo,

I've got Belford West Street to 1848. It seems that the Minister died in 1838, and I have made a note in the transcript that the register is erratic after that date. 1838 is incomplete, 1839 has only 11 entries, and 1840 is missing altogether. 1841 has a few entries but they begin on the 24th March. If she was born in the first quarter, it looks as if she has just missed being entered. C'est la vie!

Merry Christmas to all.

Myra

Thanks Myra, so it looks like a marriage cert would be the best bet to find out who she said her Dad was - if that info was given at all and try to work back from there.

Thank you all for your help with this.  At least I know there's no easy answer to Eleanor's parentage.  I'll look to the marriage certificate to see if I can find out any more.
