When and where was he born?

If he was only born in 1909 that rules out WW1 which was 1914-1918

If he died in Canada presume you mean York Cemetary in Canada and not York England??

When did he emigrate to Canada?

His parents were John Fell Austin and Helen Austin ( nee Douglas ) Or he could of put his step father on the form also maybe his name was Hugh BIngham . I was also told that George and his first wife had a daughter not sure when he was married it was between 1928 to 1940 in Canada.

I tried contacting the Canadian military have not heard from them and it has been 6 months now .

Thanks for the help

It is likely that the second initial in his regiment is a C, Royal Canadian Army Service Corps.

That said, a search of the Canadian military archives, the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, Findagrave and Ancestry /FindMyPast turn up blank.

Does his headstone have a date?

You mention contacting the Canadian military.  Was it the veterans affairs element which is the best place to go?  http://www.veterans.gc.ca/eng/contact
