Hi Merv,
Yes, my grandparents were Annie & Henry Gabriel Violet. My cousin keeps telling me of a Mother & child in a kitchen fire who subsequently died from their burns. Maybe Catherine Mullen's? Do you have any info on this? Also, there were 3 boys that supposedly had the name Spencer as a middle name but unable to find anyone with that name. Any info on these events would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

1879 - Death of Catherine
     
     On or around the 1st June, 1879 Catherine was tragically burnt while working over an open fire place and three weeks later died from her burns. The youngest child John was also badly burned as well. Mary Jane, though only twelve years of age took on the role of caring for her two younger brothers and her stepfather Everitt.

Thank you for that info. Can you let me know your source as I would like to follow up any other info. Did she only have 5 children or was there more? The mystery is this name Spencer that keeps coming up in my family conversations.
