Trying to look for Elizabeth's relatives, parents siblings etc... She was born 1862 in Carlisle. She married Martin Jardine, he was born in 1869 Middlebie Dumfriesshire.

They appear to have married in Scotland - 1890 in Hawick

You can download a copy of their marriage cert which will give you both sets of parents names plus mothers maiden name

The English 1871 has an Elizabeth Johnstone b Carlisle 1864 - parents Alexander & Elizabeth and another b 1866 parents John & Grace.  If you find either of those names on her 1890 marriage cert the 1871 is free to search here.

The Scottish 1901 shows her aged 39

In 1891 - Martin Jardine is shown as a visitor at his parents house.  Elizabeth is not with him and I can't find her on either the Scottish or English 1891 under Johnston(e) or Jardine at the moment

Found her with her parents in Hawick Roxburghshire Scotland under Johnstone but with an 1869 birthyear
