I did see that there was only one on the GRO that is why I thought it might be hard to read did not think of looking at the original.

I have just searched for a Alice Dancy death but nothing came up.Maybe she married again.I will look up the census's tomorrow after 1883 see if I can find her with James. There is a James Dancey 1929 died Cheltenham about the right age.

The family look to be in Warwickshire in 1901 ~ Alice is going by the name of PRISCILLA ~ the middle name of her daughter Beatrice

Very interesting morning.

Priscilla and Alice are two different people.

James married Priscilla Wood in 1885 and then he was in prison for bigamy in 1885.He is back with Alice in 1891census.Then he was with Priscilla in 1901 and 1911.He died in 1929 at Cheltenham and left his money to Priscilla Wood spinster.Priscilla Dancey died 1945 at Cheltenham and in 1939 she was living at Cheltenham says a Widow. Can of worms comes to mind.

What happened to Alice after 1891?????. :)  :)

Who was Charles Etheridge's  second wife Elizabeth born Sandhurst C1835 he married between his first wife dieing in 1856 and the 1861 census.

or is the Elizabeth he calls his wife in 1861 my Elizabeth Haines born 1836 Hartpury because I had Elizabeth down as living at Bath in 1861 by the name of Eliza Haines(it would be the first time she called herself Eliza) RG09/1697 F66 P14.

Where was he in 1871.(my Elizabeth was with her son and daughter in Maisemore)

and Charles was a widow again in 1881 and 1891 living with my Elizabeth Haines.I think he died in 1899.

Hi Claire.

That's brilliant I didn't have that information. That link is great.

I have now found them on the GRO and FreeBMD.

I wonder if Henry changed his name to Etheridge after 1891.

I did see earlier today there is an Henry Etheridge about the same age but he is with his father Henry not Charles.
