Hi would someone be able to look up a family in the 1901 Census Lanarkshire?

Mendel Hunter b. 1886 Russia 80 Graeme Street, Blackfriars, Glasgow St. John. Relationship to head, brother. No occupation given

Other family: Philip Hunter, head, b. abt. 1874, Russia. Occupation: Commercial traveller
                    Mariana Hunter, mother, b. abt 1854, Russia
                    Janie Hunter. sister, b. abt. 1882 Russia. No occupation given
                    Sarah Hunter, sister, b. about 1886,  Russia. Occupation: Tailoress

This is taken from A**y not full record which will be available on Scotlands People along with the 1911 census.

No sign of them in the 1891 or 1911 or the 1905 valuation rolls - they seem to vanish into thin air!

Hi thanks again, I think I have just found them in USA with another family Max & Sarah, would youu be able to see if they were in the 1901?

Yes, Max & Sarah are there in 1901. Also at 80 Graeme Street. Max is shown as a confectioner, born about 1867, as is Sarah. Also with them is Jenie Olswang b. about 1883. She is a tailoress and is shown as Sister-in-law.

The passenger lists show Jenie (Jeanie) leaving Glasgow on 18 April 1903, arriving New York 27 April 1903. It's a bit difficult to read but she says she is going to her sister-in-law Mrs Brauer (I don't think it's Bauer) and the address is 602 Newark Ave, Jersey City.
