I have, in the past, subscribed to the US site and also the Australian and Irish version on FindMyPast depending on who is giving the best offer. I always check the exchange rate first.

Hi Annie

Gale, via the Library only really gave me The Times and I've checked for everything when I was last on.

When I go from the Library to Gale and I put my Library Code in, it basically says my Standard Telephone Dialling code is outside of the Library Area.

In my library The Times & Newspaper library all come under Gale database you can just switch from one to the other having logged in.

Apparently, you could try this

http://www.ancestry.co.uk/cs/offers/...ct&irpid=55537

but it only works if you permit your current subscription to lapse.  So if you follow the link and still have a current subscription (and are logged in) it won't show up properly.

Sorry that doesn't work at all, I just get "We’re sorry, this page is no longer available".

I received the following in a RootsMagic newsletter early this morning, Obviously missed Black Friday but still valid until end of Monday.

"A couple of weeks ago Ancestry had a one day 50% off sale on subscriptions.  A lot of you told us that you didn't find out until it was over.  Well this time Ancestry is offering 50% off gift subscriptions over the Black Friday / Cyber Monday weekend!  And if you are a new subscriber, or if your current Ancestry subscription renews in the next 90 days, you can use the gift subscription for yourself!"

Hope this is useful to some of you.

Mods.. please move if this isn't the right board or has already been posted.

From my post on the lighter side

That works but, of course, they then add tax to the figures quoted.  However for a worldwide sub I save about £46 on the price quoted on the UK site which is apparently a saving of £60!  The other cheaper option is for US records only which isn't much use to me as only a few of my ancestors went to USA.

Interestingly as soon as I put in my email address up popped "Welcome back Elizabeth". ::)

Ancestry sent me a worldwide renewal in August for £179-99 - I rang to see if they would offer the 25% discount as they had done for the previous 5 years but the operator was very arrogant and said he was not inclined to offer any discount since I had threatened to cancel the previous year.  So I was more than happy to cancel.  Luckily I found the offer of worldwide for £89.99 which was amazing  ;D  Couldn't believe my luck  ;)
