Help with Scottish birth place name on a US Marriage Certificate

Hi All! I have been trying for months to find information on my grandfather, John Henry Anderson. Per a U.S. 1930 Census, and his marriage and death certificates from the U.S. I have a birth date and his parents names but no matter how I try to find him/them, I hit dead ends. Everything says he and they were born in Scotland.

I'm hoping if I can figure out what his birth place was from the marriage certificate, that may help me out.

John Henry Anderson B: 15 July 1885. Father: William Anderson. Mother: Esther Maria Hill (also Maria Hill or Esther M. Hill)

He's just not showing up on FS or SP for a birth reg.

The fathers name matches and the mothers first name could kind of match, but not what I have for her maiden name on everything. Nor does the birth date but I know those things were a little looser back in the day!

Is there any place else besides Scotlands People that I should be looking at for his records.

Do you have migration details for him, or any US record prior to the marriage?

I see that his immigration date is given as 1919 per the 1930 census in NJ (& he died pre-1940).
