Austin stated that he worked for Farnell and sons in Brightington? near Leeds as a Wheel wright for 3 years before enlisting.

It seems likely that Austin changed trades after the war because either his previous occupation was too strenuous, or just because there was less work for a wheelwright as motor transport took over from horses.

If you look at the top of your post you will see it has been viewed by over 400 people.  If any of them was able to help with info - it would have been posted so there is no need to refresh your post. 

If, as seems likely, the Nellie Purcell who (re)married in 1933 to Harry Waterhouse was Austin's wife - do you have a copy of that marriage record to validate Nellie's given marital status - i.e. does she there declare herself to be widowed?

Can you reply to this please?

If he just "disappeared" and given his father was Irish - have you looked at Irish deaths?

Does the daughters 1952 marriage cert show him as deceased?

For death certificate  (none
Found) I spoke to a researcher about this and
Was informed she could have
Lied about her position.
I have also searched for a
Divorce Record but once again none found.
