Following on from previous message, I don't think they are the same person.

Could it have been assumed in the family that Mary ... Christiansen was Mary Ann when in fact she wasn't?

It would be helpful to know where the line starts to ensure we are following the correct person.

Annie Webster - if you would like to post those details but do not include living persons then perhaps we can help you further.

Just to point out, Julia Farley marries a Samuel Burgess - take a look at 1911!

However am also coming to the conclusion Mary Francis/Jane is a different person - but related. The mother's maiden name of the Christiansen children is Thompson

I think that is what we are working on Mabel. ;)

The witnesses at Bridget's marriage were Samuel Burgess and Mary Jane Christiansen.

That is why I wonder if somehow the two ladies have been mixed up in the family.
We called neighbours and distant relatives 'Aunty' when I was a child and am wondering if this is similar.
As JJ points out where does the information come from. ???

You have Mary Ann,  Bridget and Julia Farley.

You have Bridget and Julia both connected to Mary Jane Christiansen (Thompson).

Mary Frances Thompson married Christian Christiansen. Her father is given as William James Thompson.

Why do you think Mary Christiansen is Mary Ann Farley?
