George Button where did he die
« on: Sunday 22 January 17 20:12 GMT (UK) »
Hi i was wondering if anyone would have further information on George Button born 1867 in Kenardington Kent. He joined up as a solider at the age of 20 and then joined again at the age of 48 in 1914 in the reserves. On findmypast it gives his service number as S/1086. He served in the Royal West Kent regiment. On the third page at the bottom it says he was killed in action July 1916. Does anyone have information on where he was killed?

Thanks in advance panda

Sorry, no. I wondered if his death was also recorded under Pearson, but I can't see it.

After the record showing his death the next page shows the letter stating where to send his medals to it is addressed to Edith Lillian Pearson. Which is strange as he married Isobel Maud Spent in India while stationed out there in 1901. This is a mystery as the same army number he has is on the letter that was sent to Edith Lillian Pearson.

Same service number.
Same memorial.
Same date of death.
Same age at death.

I think the evidence is overwhelming?! ;D ;D

I agree, so the puzzle is now, why did he use the name Charles Pearson and also George Button?
