Eliza Coupland
« on: Thursday 26 January 17 13:42 GMT (UK) »
I'm having no look in finding my Great Aunt Eliza Coupland born 1896  Wrangle Lincolnshire. Parents, Absalom Coupland & Harriet Matson. I found her in 1901 & 1911 Census but after that I'm lost. Any help would be great. Thank you.

Different person, that one was born in 1888 I think. (from 1939 register)
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.

Maybe creative age as Ernest was born in 1887 and Eliza may have wanted to appear younger than her husband.

Checked one of the sons there and MMN Coupland so could well be you family. You really need a marriage cert to see if your Eliza did marry Ernest Hogg.

This one was younger than her husband.  Her death (aged 71 in 1960) is consistent with an 1888 birth.

I am not saying you're not correct Geoff-E but having had several relatives on my tree very creative with ages I wouldn't discount it. What's on the death cert is only what the person registering knows or allowed to know. I had a gt gt uncle take off 15 yrs due to the young age of his wife and a gt gt gt grandmother take off 5 years to be younger than her second husband.  Gt gt gt grandma was widowed a second time and went to live with her eldest daughter, my gt gt grandmother. As she was the daughter of the 1st marriage her age at death was registered correctly but if she'd kept up the pretence  and she went to live with 1 of her 3 sons from the second marriage would they have known her true age?

The marriage cert will confirm 1 way or the other. In some circumstances doubt comes in and you need proof. The marriage cert will give her father's name.
