Hi John, and welcome to Rootschat! Think I might be able to help you here! The Logan family were very prominent in New Cumnock, East Ayshire, where my maternal family are from.
They were known as the "Logan's of Knochshinnoch", and if you type that into best friend Google, you will find many references to look at, and places you might like to visit. The Archive you want to visit is the Baird Institute in Cumnock, (previously known as Old Cumnock), which is a just few kms from New Cumnock.
You might also get some info from the New Cumnock Library, I found them both very helpful when I have visited there researching my own families. I have not found a family connection of my own to the Logan's, but as both my maternal families are from there, I'm related to many families still living in New Cumnock, and many who lie there in the Afton Road Cemetery
You will see in the Google search results, there is a New Cumnock historian by the name of Robert (or Bob) Guthrie. He has done extensive research in the area, and I'm sure he'll will be able to help you in your journey. A good man to contact. You will see that he has a fairly recent new website on the History of New Cumnock.
So check out "Logan's of Knochshinnoch" on Google for starters, and I will check out the several New Cumnock books I have.
Good luck, and Happy Hunting! 😄👍
