Melvin, Margaret (and son) WILMONT

I'm hoping someone can help 

Melvin Wilmont was born on 31 October 1915 - I think in the UK - but I can't find any record.

In about 1856 he married Margaret White Carstairs Wannan who was born in Springfield, Parish of Cupar, Fife - but again I can't find any record - and they had a son born 5 April 1857.  Again, I can't find any record for this apart from the entry in the 19 July 1959 Passenger Manifest for the S.S. "Orion" on which the family sailed from London (Tilbury), England to Melbourne, Victoria, Australia - from 12 Queen Mary Avenue, Bata Estate, East Tilbury, Essex

In the 1963 Australian Electoral Rolls, Melvin and Margaret are residing at 183 Nelson Road, Cardigan, Melbourne Ports, Victoria, then in the 1968-1980 Electoral Rolls they're residing at 4 Tribe Street, South Melbourne, Cardigan, Melbourne Ports, Victoria.  The 1968-1890 Rolls show their son.

Can anyone shed some light on this family's life in Australia for me?

Starting to get somewhere else now    Seems they had another child after they got to Oz.

Birth for son won't post name as still living  April-June 1957 Thurrock Cambridgeshire Essex mother's maiden name Wannan ...Might be worth checking
