Anthony & Saz,

Thanks, could be useful

Margaret Ferguson's grandfather was John Ferris, of the Inn House Glenavy, a Spirit Merchant.

John's daughter Charlotte married Leonard J Ferguson, 31 Nov 1831.  This was Margaret's parents.  I know nothing else about Leonard.

A "Ferris" family "Bible" had all the family of Margaret and Henry (Cousins) listed with the Ferris family connections.

Mr Green

Not certain if there is a connection, as the "Cousin" side of the family came from a 1850's link & stopped with children born 1878.

Hope to check registers within next couple of weeks, and will post update.

A "Ferris" family "Bible" had all the family of Margaret and Henry (Cousins) listed with the Ferris family connections.

Old post, I know, but...

Does that Ferris "Bible" include the following family?

Alexander FERRIS of Aghalee (c1811-1902) m. Mary THOMPSON in 1863 and they had:
- Jane, 1865
- William, 1867
- Thomas William, 1869
- Catherine Eliza, 1872
- Sarah Isabella, 1874
- Samuel Alexander, 1878

Alexander had a brother Thomas (c1824-1897) of Aghagallon (lands in Derrynaseer and Ballykeel).  I'm wondering whether they were perhaps brothers or cousins of your Charlotte FERRIS (born c1805)...?

Hi MFGilbert,

I am sorry but your reply to Glenaby Lad has just bounced back to us, it looks like his email address is no longer working :'(

Old Posts are always worth a try, most of the time they do work but sadly not with this one ;)

Regards

Sarah
