Carr family in Airmyn
« on: Saturday 25 February 17 22:36 GMT (UK) »
Can anybody help me to push back with the CARR family living in Airmyn, 1830s?

My ancestor, Robert Carr, buried in Airmyn 8 Jan 1832. I would love to know where this Carr family came from but as yet cannot find any other members.

Hi, there is also a Catherine Carr, buried in the churchyard at Airmyn 15th January 1825, I wonder if they were related, Robert was aged 72 when he died in 1832 and Catherine was aged 74 in 1825.

Both lived in Airmyn.

Frank.

Many thanks. Yes, Catherine (née Margrave), was Robert's wife. It is Robert's origins that I find difficult.

Also buried in Airmyn are:

Hanna Buried 24th October 1864 aged 66, abode Goole (a couple of miles from Airmyn)

Mary Ann buried 2nd June 1886 aged 59, abode Goole.

Now then!! Robert, buried 22nd July 1795 Son of Robert and Catherine so Robert and Catherine were married  ;D

These are burials in Airmyn? What is your source?

That's good regarding Robert – an infant death as I have him as baptised Airmyn 19 Apr 1795.

The burial of Robert in 1795 ties in with the infant death of Robert as no age is given so presumably under 12 months.

Many thanks. But nothing else? If not, the family must have been passing through and possibly from somewhere else in the locale?

Checking familysearch did they have a son Johnathon, would expect a child to be named after his father perhaps.

There is a baptism in Whitgift which isn't too far away. Transcript says father is JONAH, but I think it should be Johnathon

Robt. son of John. n   bapt. 20 May 1762
