This is even better and could lead me back to a common ancestor!

This looks like Henry's grandfather with his wife Ann and their children including Henry's father William.

1841, township of Walker, Northumberland.
Oil Mill
Henry Daglish   35, oil manufactory
Ann Daglish   30
William Daglish   9
Henry Daglish   6
Mary Daglish   2
(all born in county)
This township is next to the Tyne.

Just a little more on William's baptism (1832) from FreeReg. The details are as listed by CupofLife with the addition of the abode of the person: Causey End; name of the Church: St Nicholas; father's occupation: labourer

Also FreeReg has some extra details for the marriage of Henry's grandparents, Henry DAGLISH and Ann MILBURN.  The witnesses were John GAIR, Henry COCKBURN and Ann signed with a cross.

Here is a possible for the birth/baptism of Henry's grandfather - the date of birth fits with the age given in 1841 (remembering that ages are rounded in the 1841 census).

Northumberland
St Andrew's church,   Newcastle upon Tyne
Baptism date: 25 Aug 1805
Birth date: 21 Jun 1805
Henry, son of Wm DAGLISH, yeoman and Mary GRUNSTON
Register note   2nd son. Father, Native of the Parish of Embleton, by his wife, Native of this Chapelry, daughter of Thos GRUNSTON

Looking on FreeReg there are lots of records for the surname DAGLISH in Embleton; it's quite a common surname in Northumberland. The forenames are very common, though so I stress that this is only a possibility.

Thank you, Judith.
My direct ancestors were from the Earsdon parish in the 1770s but their birth/baptism details have not come to light and I am trying a sort of reverse approach in case there are links.  Spelling becomes a problem, too, the further back we go.

Is it the DAGLISH line you are following?

Yes, for many years I have been trying to find the baptism or other birth details of the siblings John, Robert and Ann Daglish who all came to the Wigan area of Lancashire and gave Earsdon or Hartley as their birthplace in censuses, born late 1770s/80s.  I strongly suspect their parents were another John who married  Abigail Buckham at Earsdon in 1769, although the register spells that John differently.
I have posted about this set some time ago but have got no further, though I know plenty about them since arriving in Lancs.
