Augustus Huxford footballer grimsby 1911

Hi I'm looking for any information on Augustus Huxford born 1890 and his career.
He was married to Eva Davis, daughter of James Davis port missionary of Grimsby.
I am interested as my grandmother was brought up by him from being a small child from around 1912 onward. Her name was Marjorie Andrew daughter of Ada Davis, sister of Eva. (All deceased)
Especially interested if any one in the family remembers her as a young girl and any family photos etc

It seems he played as Gus Huxford and is fondly remembered at Grimsby Town FC

I would check out any of the site with newspaper archives such as findmypast or british newspapers.  There should be plenty of references if he was a regular senior player.

Hi if you use FindMyPast for articles relating to him in local Lincolnshire press, as of old no first name of players just surname eg HUXFORD, lots to view, sounds like a  Premiership quality player today!
