Rider Military? on Horseback - Old Photo - Any Info please?

Hi

I was at a sale yesterday and I rather fell for this tatty old photograph (previously sponged with a damp cloth) on a tatty mount and not very sharp either.

On the reverse is a label "C2- 93710", plus more numbers written in pencil.

Neither the rider, or horse, or poor resolution, or poor condition, is something I would usually buy. My heart ruled my head and suddenly I owned it.

Please can anyone shed any light, on my impulsive purchase?

Hi, he looks to be Great war era and is definitely from a mounted unit (note the spurs) not able to make cap badge out yet of shoulder title  :-\

It would be better on the Armed Forces World War One board to be honest.

Names on the double doors ...

WAGON SHED. and MOB. EQUIPMENT

You can see the channels through under the doors for the wheels of the carriages. Also a central pier for the bolts at the bottom (on the back) of the double doors, to bolt into.

Photos Added as an Edit
On the reverse of the photograph mount/surround, is a label "C2- 93710" and numbers "794 -   5130" written in pencil. Looks as though 5130 was added (slightly lighter pencil lead).

That could well be "RE" on the shoulder title.

Just been trying to have a play with the photo and I'm not sure if the shoulder title could well be "R.F.A" but the cap badge is strange, unless it's the orientation of the rider  :-\

No, it's not jim, that's why I said it looked strange :)

I keep having (trying to) have a play with the photo to see if it can be made any easier to id, not having much luck tho  ::)

Added, completely coming from the left field, it also looks like a York and Lancashire cap badge.
