Leonard Whittaker born Hackney 1919 - parents Elizabeth Hemstedt & Alfred

Dear fellow researchers,

I am trying to source information on my grandmother's brother. His name was Leonard Whittaker, born in Hackney 1919 to Elizabeth Hemstedt and Alfred Whittaker.

I cannot find anything on him, other than his birth around September 1919. His sister was Constance Mary, born 1912.

I would be most grateful for any information.

The GRO birth index states that he is Leonard A Whittaker, do you know what his middle name was

Thank you for your reply.  Sadly I do not, Rosie. I wonder if it is Alfred, after his father? - I do know that it is 'A', that's all.

I wonder if that could be his death certificate. Thank you. I have been searching for a while - you've managed it in a couple of minutes!

Did Leonard's mother remarry in 1933, Hackney to Frederick J F Jenkins?

If so by doing a free search of the 1939 there is a Leonard Whittaker born 1919 living in Croydon with Frederick J Jenkins and Elizabeth M Jenkins.

I have just found this while looking for information about Leonard. He was married to my nan, Betty Saych. If you are still looking for any info I may have a few bits to fill in some gaps.
