The only possible marriage is Sept quarter 1865, Leeds.  Mary Ellen Haley and on the same page is a George William Taylor.  How sure are you of the husband's name?
I'm going by the small bit of info that an elder relative passed on, I'm presuming she would of met them so I'm relatively certain about the name.............I agree I really need to get Peters birth certificate! If I'm uncertain of his exact place of birth (Lancashire Liverpool is what I have) will it be possible to get hold of? I'm still relatively new to this. Thankyou

Hello again,

You do need to check your source re Peter's birth.
There are too many Mary Taylor deaths 1918 to check - I had thought that might be a clue.

Is this Sarah Jane?
Marriage 1910 to Arthur Monks
Marriage 1919 Sarah J Monks to Peter Taylor
Both in Stoke on Trent

This second marriage certificate would give you a name for Peter's father. However, if the Leeds family is your Peter, Mr Taylor may have been invented or not married to Mary Haley- a birth certificate for Peter may help too.

Correction re death for Mary Taylor

Assuming she is the Leeds lady, there are no deaths in 1918 in Liverpool or Leeds for Mary Taylor born 1856 +/- 2 yrs.  :-\

There is a Mary E Taylor born abt 1853 died June quarter  1918 Leeds

I thought I had found her in 1851. Mary is listed as 5 months old, so older than expected from later census
HO107; Piece: 2321; Folio: 1107; Page: 22 in W Leeds

Edit: Not the right family.
