Aha!  Great find.  I didn't look in Lancs for a marriage.

Nor did I 

It's surprising how far Glossop folk traveled to get wed  Plenty in Chapel-en-le-Frith in early days - just outside the Ancient Parish (one of the largest in the country) of course.
I've found a few couples marrying at Manchester Cathedral.
Mottram/Tintwistle is always worth looking at because many Hadfield families found it easier to get there than over the hill to (Old) Glossop. Indeed, the marriage I found the details for may well have been there because the information I quoted only relates to the registration district.
