Cambridgeshire and Essex Look up please Ickleton and Elmdon
« on: Thursday 04 May 17 10:13 BST (UK) »
Hi there
Wonder if anyone can help please?

Looking for bap/birth Edward HINKIN/S around 1714 or so. Edward married Elizabeth GOLDING in Elmdon (just over the border from CAM) in 1734. Also Elizabeth's bap/birth - unsure where/when but probably around the same time as Edward - they married in 1734.

I'm happy to pay for images of the PRs if they exist but haven't been able to find out where that might be
Thanks again to anyone who has advice
Cheers

There is a marriage for an Edward Hinkin and an Elizabeth Bolding (not Golding) on FreeREG. Marriage date 14/10/1734 St Mary Magdalene Church, Ickleton, Cambridge. There is a baptism for an Edward Hinkin 22/6/1707 at Bassingbourn, Cambridge-Father Edward, Mother Elizabeth.

Thanks Paco - any idea where the actual images of the PRs are available?

I have littler success with FreeReg these days. I just put in the details of Edward and for marriage 1734 and no results.
Anyway will keep trying, did find it in FamilySearch with your dates, thanks

If you put in www.freereg.org.uk and then Hinkin Edward 1714 and select Cambridge from the list it should come up ok. The Parish Records for Ickleton, Cambridgeshire are held at The Cambridgeshire County Record Office. However I have in the past carried out data input for FreeREG for other towns in Cambridgeshire, and everything that is on the record is always put into the system, so there will not be any additional  information about the marriage. You can also buy CD.s of Parish Records, which I have done in the past as I also have ancestors in Cambridgeshire, and these can be bought from Cambridge Family History Society.

It has Edward Hinkins* 1707.

I still use the old site as I find it much user friendly.
Although no new records are being added there it still has good coverage.
I also  check the FreeREG2 site for new records.
Siblings for Edward 1707 are;
ROBERT Hinkins 12 Nov 1710, buried 14 Sept 1720, Son of Edward
ELIZABETH Hinkin 18 Oct 1714, buried 12 May 1721, Daug of Edward
SARAH Hinkins 11 May 1718
(FreeREG)

Familysearch.Org has a Marriage;
Edward HINKINS to Elizabeth NUMAN, 8 October 1704, Bassingbourn, Cambridge, England

Burials;
ELIZABETH Hinkins, Wife of Edward 7 July 1722
EDWARD Hinkings 31 Jan 1732/33
(FreeREG)
