My first attempt at 'guessing ages' but I'd put her more around 9-10 too. She looks very self-aware and focused. More so than my daughters were at 6-7.

Mike

lovely picture tho i would have put her at 9 or 10
i'm quite good at guessing ages of modern children but bonnets confuse me too .
could it be dressing for a confirmation or a bridesmaid ?

Hi Caz....I would say she was about 7/8 years old too as a child's face begins to lengthen after their front adult teeth have fully grown and her face is still quite square. What a gem of a photo...truly beautiful.

I agree, Carol. My 7 year old niece's face is that shape, that's what I was basing my estimate on.

I say she is eight years old and has been asked to smile "a little bit" but keep her lips together.
This is because her adult teeth are appearing and the open lips view is a tad messy ;D

She is mature enough, as an eight year old girl can be, to comply with this instruction in a natural looking way.

Could be that she's missing her two front teeth!  ;D

Thanks for the input Mike.  At this stage she's still a mystery but I'm still looking!

6-7 was my original thought, but I'm expanding the search range.   It's a cracker isn't it? Feel free if you want to play, it'll be the year 2020 before I get around to it!

Thanks Sue.  I thought the same thing, very natural calm pose for one so young.   Perhaps she was used to cameras!
