Thanks one and all.  Yes Harford a Quaker did go bankrupt which was not a good thing if you were a Quaker. In the early days it was a serious issue for which a person could have been disowned by the Friends.

Thanks for the information re the Wills and legacies.

I am wondering if there are any newspaper articles for the birth and death of Agnes Lury whose birth was registered Jan - Mar 1855 & death July - Sept 1914?

I have Anne's death but only the date of her birth registration Oct - Dec 1856.

I have a sub for FindMyPast

Does your sub include 1939 register?

Won't help with Agnes' birth date if she died 1914 but you should be able to find Anne's

Is this her in Yorkshire?

Anne H  Lury 1856   York C.B.   Yorkshire (West Riding)

If it's birthdates you are interested in, and you have (as you say) a Findmypast sub, then I'd suggest you look for Anne in the 1939 Register.

Hi,

If the family were Quakers could Agnes be buried in the Society of Friends Burial Ground, Southampton?

Someone here has more info about it and a picture which looks like a list of burials and plots, perhaps contacting them might be helpful.
