Sadly it doesn't help much with ages/witnesses etc

Have you looked for them in 1851?   That might help with ages.

If no one beats me to it I think I will be able to look this up for you by the end of next week when I am over near the South Shields local studies.

I feel reasonably sure that this will be on microfilm there.

Found Jane in 1851..waiting to be transported.

Robert signed with his mark.  Jane signed her name.
Witnesses: (M Jamieson?) & (Nic?) Coxon

I have put writing in brackets where  the staff and I are not 100% sure that this is what is recorded - however these are our best guesses at the writing.

I have just noticed that the person whose signature looks like 'M Jamieson' was probably a Church Worker as they signed as a witness on other marriage records too.
