Fishing Boat Tradgedy-Kings Lynn Memorial
« on: Sunday 31 July 05 09:44 BST (UK) »
Hello Everyone
On the 19 Nov 1875 five fishing boats from Fife were lost in a storm having left Great Yarmouth for Fife in a break in the storm .I have several relations who were lost on these boats. I have seen a reference to a memorial to this event in Kings Lynn .Does anyone know where this memorial is ? Could someone also suggest which local newsparers might have carried reports of the event.

                                       Thanks
                                           Grant

You could try the Lynn News & Advertiser.  They have a contact site online.

e-mail, newsdesk@lynnnews.co.uk

I could find no reference to a memorial in my book but who knows.

Hi Grant,
Are you still looking for info on this memorial? I live in Lynn and I have a photo of (I believe) this, the ship was the Northern Star?? and the memorial is in Hardwick Road Cemetery.
