Few snippets on Carl AKA Charles Eichmann/Eichman

In the local Gympie Newspaper on 10th September 1892 published a list of names of persons enrolled but had not qualified to be on the 1893 Electoral Roll for Gympie because they were dead, moved or disqualified.

Charles EICHMAN, residence, West Monkland Lease, left.

in 1909 having sold the farm at Dawn Pocket near Gympie Carl Eichmann went on to auction off the cattle, horses, implements and sundries.

Thanks very much Gerry for all those snippets.  I'll look at them tomorrow as it is getting late here.

Just morning here in Cairns Far North Queensland, winter now but temp was 20 degrees C at 6 AM which is ok.

Looks like Carl/Charles Eichmann left Pimpama went to Gympie for the gold, then got into farming.

If you need any more info on Carl maybe try.

Just got off the phone with the lovey chap, from the Pimpama Island Cemetery (not an island at all). It's in the vicinity of Jacob's Well/Yatala, between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

He is 4th generation, of German heritage - in his seventies - running the cemetery. Although it is on Crown Land, his family have always held the Trust for it. It is therefore run as a private business. He does it all himself, including grave digging and the only income is derived from the burials, i.e. No deaths, no income. Burials are cheap, compared to other cemeteries and anyone can be buried there. He calls the cemetery, his backyard.

He says that there is one M. Eichmann in the records, but no other details. He knows where the actual plot is.

So, although not absolute confirmation, it is possible that it's him. Only a death cert would possibly confirm this.

Thanks for that information about the cemetery.  In his seventies and still working there, good for him.  Obviously enjoys the work.

Do Australian death certificates say where someone is buried then?

I'm not going to fuss about it for the moment - it can go on the back burner for now.

Yes, the certificates give burial place, but not sure if ALL do.

I have a 1902 Queensland Death Certificate for my GGF and there are sections for

When and where buried.  Undertaker, by whom certified.
Name and Religion of Minister, or names of Witnesses of burial.

I would expect it the same for 1893.

Thank you both for that information.  As I said earlier, no rush to get the death cert.
