I see there is a connection with William Palmer the 'Rugeley Poisoner' to the Mifflin family, Emma daughter of a William Mifflin, and wife of Joshua Price had an article in the paper of the time stating she had been treated by Dr Palmer for a cut finger when she was young. Emma was born in Slitting Mill also so a strong possibility there is a connection. The article is in the Evening Despatch 1943, she is 99 years old and recalling her connection to Dr Palmer. She died a couple of years later aged 101, interesting story.

I think your John born 1811 would be uncle to Emma, I have found a baptism records for William 5th may 1816 & Sarah 20th june 1813 all to William & Sarah Ward, these records are on find my past. I think William senior was born 1786, have found a baptism 29 jan that year to Henry Miflin & Ann Holmes in Rugeley.
Hope this is helpful.

Emma's father William married Margaret Leese 25th march 1843, they had Emma in 1844, John in 1846, twins Margaret & Sarah but unfortunately they died along with their mother not long after birth. William remarried Mary Ann Wetton in 1849.

Have found William & Mary Ann in 1851 census living in Slitting Mill with Emma & John plus another William Miflin who is down as head of household & father to William so the Henry & Ann Holmes cannot be right  :'(
