1871 the family are living at 31 Old Road, Failsworth.

But what you haven't included is that Elizabeth wasn't with them in 1871!!

The way your post is phrased gives the impression she was still with family in 1871 so any marriage search was from 1871 onwards.

She was 23yrs old by 1871 so could have married before 1871

Suggest you check the 1871 and 1881 censuses for all the spouse names listed by Heatherjulie to see if the details for wife Elizabeth matches what you know

Have managed to do that, to no avail.

Maybe she married/died under Bessie/Lizzie etc....

Will have to revisit this one.....
