Hi Ian:

Can you tell me what marriage entry #57 says on the right?  For Tobias Öberg and Hulda Josefsson.

https://app.arkivdigital.se/production/index.html?aid=v82105.b60.s52&page=main/index

Also if you can give me a head start where they lived.  I know they came to the US around 1910.

Thanks,

Paul

Can you tell me in what parish Tobias was born in 1881?  Rafsberga?

"Vigde på grund af lysningsattest från pastorat ämb i Norra Åsarp dit vigselattest avsändes den 29 Dec 1905."

Married according to the engagement certificate from parish ämb (?) in Norra Åsarp where it was sent dated 29 Dec 1905.

Ian:

Here is a moving out record from Ljungarum:

https://app.arkivdigital.se/production/index.html?aid=v35311.b88&page=main/index

#51 is Carl August Svensson, his wife, and 7 children.  Can you see where they go next?  I'm trying to find when Tobias (their son born 11 Jul 1881 in Rogberga) acquired the Öberg last name.  I'm guessing in the military?  Tobias married Hulda Elisabet Josefsson in 1905 in Sweden (the record you helped me with).  They moved to Connecticut in 1910.  I have that record.  I'm just not sure where the Öberg name came from.  They used Oberg as their last name in the US, and I have found some living Obergs still in the US who are descendants of Tobias.

They are moving to "Jönköping Östra Församlingen".

I'm just not sure where the Öberg name came from.

He was in the artillery: 2nd Artillery Regiment Jönköping:

He was probably given the name (or took) by the army:
