Hi Ian:  I hope you are well!!  I have started doing a little more research.  Can you take a look at this 1765 baptism record from Kumla for Peter (top right)?I think he went into the military and was called Peter Ofverman as an adult.  Is his father’s last name Sterling?  I’m not sure he is the correct Peter.  He married Helena or Lena Jonsdotter in 1787 (I think....maybe in Kumla or Karstad...I couldn’t find it).  I have all of the info from Peter and Helena (Lena) down to me.  I’m hoping to trace back a few generations of Peter and Helena (correct birthdates, parents, and grandparents). 

Please let me know if you can help.  No rush....just when you have time.

Is his father’s last name Sterling?

Without digging deeper for now the name looks like Jerling. The minister was a bit lazy with this "J" I believe.

Here is a link to Peter and Helena/Lena’s daughter Eva Elisabeth (sometimes Eva Lisa) Ofverman baptism record, born 25 July 1799 in Kumla, Ostergotland.  Eva is my 3rd Great Grandmother.

I have on my tree that Peter Ofverman was born around 1765 and Helena/Lena Jonsdotter around 1764...but I don’t have the baptism records. 

I have the following children for Peter and Helena/Lena:

1.  Maria, born 31 Aug 1788 and died 3 Jan 1807, both in Kumla
2.  Anna Greta, born 21 Feb 1792 in Kumla (no death info)
3.  Per Goran, born 17 Sep 1794 in Kumla (no death info)
4.  Eva Elisabeth/Lisa, born 25 July 1799 in Kumla, married Eric Hugo 1 March 1832 in Sya, died 3 July 1883 in Sya.
5.  Christina Katarina born 30 April 1804 in Kumla (no death info)

There could be more children.

I don’t have death info for Peter or Helena/Lena.

Let me know if this is enough info.  I am hoping to trace this line back as far as possible, especially Helena/Lena Jonsdotter as I am working on extending my maternal (mtDNA) line and she is my direct maternal line ancestor.
