Scottish marriage record - help needed please

Hi,

I've attached a screenshot of the parents' column of the marriage of William Scally and Hannah Gray in 1894 in Glasgow.  Here's what I can make out:

3  and
4  Margaret Scally
5  MS ?
6  -
7 ? Gray
8  Dairy Labourer
9  (Deceased) and
10  ? Gray
11  MS ?
12  Deceased

I'd be really grateful if anyone could decipher the MS of each of the mothers!

Two possibles -

7 - Terence Gray
10 - Teresa Gray

  Thank you JJ - I wondered about Teresa and agree that the first letter seems to be the same for both forenames.

  yes, must be Terence Gray and Teresa - her MS is given as Wynn(e) on Scotland's People.

Hi Liz,

You can ask Scotlands People to enhance the image if you are struggling to read it. I have had to ask them twice and on both occasions a much clearer image was sent to me. They were quite quick at doing it too.

I think the second occupation is Quay labourer, not dairy labourer.

Wonder if this is the family, if so, marriage would be in Ireland for parents.

I am not used to using Scotland's People so didn't realise I could contact them so easily.  My family rarely pops up over the border!

The link to Ireland is reassuring because that is where I was thinking they would be, so finding them in Glasgow threw me a bit.  Off to Irish records now
