The above named was born in 1925 Died in 1988. He enlisted in the sherwood Foresters Derbyshire and i know that he served in singapore around 1940 ish.He is listed in Forces war records as a corporal in 1943 but his service number is not listed for some reason. Can you Help.

You can apply without a service number.  You will need the death certificate though.

12th and 13th Battalion were in the Far East/India etc but not until 1942 according to their war diaries.
