I think I have found out something that explains a lot: https://www.ukbmd.org.uk/reg/districts/prestwich.html

Modern-day Prestwich is a different area to Newton/Failsworth, but in 1923, Failsworth was in the registration district of Prestwich, and that's where the death was registered and burial took place. But now I have the church, thank you again!

Sadly St Johns Church, Failsworth had 99% of the headstones removed (health & Safety) many years ago. 

Likewise at All Saints, Newton Heath, 99% of the headstones removed and the overflow cemetery is now a playing field a few streets away from the Church.

Still though, they are stunning buildings, and my mother-in-law was married in All Saints.
