There is a tree on Ancestry for the John D Yates mentioned in my previous post. From this it would appear that he is not the person we are looking for.

I think trying to follow up the Hunt St address is the way to go.

I am not sure if the Electoral Rolls are at Notts Archives but perhaps a post on the Notts look up requests board linking to this thread as I am sure there are people who go to the archives regularly.

Even if he is not recorded at that address at least you will be able to see who was living there.
