Hi
Provisionally Dad and Mom come from Derbyshire and Coventry but Emma marries two Frederick Houghs(husbands 2 and 3) and it would be nice to know their father's names and what they were doing in Nottingham .Surely there weren't any farms in Nottingham city centre?

She married two men of the same name?

And is this the same Emma Markham who is in the 1871 census with parents Joseph and Sarah HOUGH?

Do you have details of husb no. 3?

Frederick Gregory Hough was b in Shardlow in 1866, mmn Rewcastle. So this fits with Joseph Hough and Eliza Ann Rewcastle who married in Derby in 1848.

Husb no 2, Frederick Hough, was allegedly b in Derby around 1849 if the 1881 census is to be believed. But there's no matches in the other censuses and I wonder if he is actually the Frederick Hough b in Shardlow in 1842; there's a death of a 47 yr old Frederick Hough in Derby in 1889, which would fit, and would give Emma time to remarry husb no.3 in 1891.

The birth registration of the 1842 Frederick in Shardlow gives mmn as Wragg. There was a John Hough m Sarah Wragg at Duffield, Derbyshire in 1816; and in 1861, a Frederick Hough of the right age living with 60 year old widowed mother Sarah at Osmaston (Shardlow).

I'll be interested in the outcome of the marriage cert of Frederick and Emma to see if my sleuthing is on the mark or wide of it!

If those "Frederick's are husband's 2 and 3 of Emma's who was husband Number 1

"And is this the same Emma Markham who is in the 1871 census with parents Joseph and Sarah HOUGH?"

so Emma maiden name was Hough too?

Emma is shown as a widow with the surname Markham in 1871; Emma Hough m Henry Markham in 1870 and Henry seems to have died in q1 1871.

So yes, it seems that Emma was also a Hough --
